General description of the collection: The Robert B. Springer papers consist of a copy of Springer's 2004 revision of his 1998 report, "Falling Waters: A survey of General Patterson's Mission, 1861." Springer's intention is "to accurately portray events and participants" in the 1st Battle of Bull Run (1st Manassas) by following the actions of Major General Robert Patterson and his soldiers. Springer also offers discussions of possible alternative actions.
